Monografia poświęcona krytyczno-porównawczej analizie koncepcji strukturalistycznych - jednego z najintensywniej rozwijanych kierunków we współczesnej filozofii matematyki. Autorka omawia koncepcje strukturalne w matematyce, poczynając od strukturalizmu w ujęciu Dedekinda, uznawanego za prekursora tego kierunku, a kończąc na teorii struktur Stewarda Shapiro. W podsumowaniu przedstawia strukturalizm jako alternatywę dla platonizmu oraz wypunktowuje trudności i problemy związane z przyjęciem strukturalizmu w matematyce. W polskiej literaturze nie ma dotąd publikacji poświęconych temu kierunkowi.

Structural mathematics

Structural mathematics is a presentation of the structuralistic conceptions in the philosophy of mathematics, from the precursors of these conceptions (R. Dedekind and N. Bourbaki), to contemporary views. The book contains critically-comparative analysis of contemporary structuralistic conceptions in philosophy of mathematics created by: M. Resnik, S. Shapiro and G. Hellman. In this book can be found an especially strict logical reconstruction of these conceptions and remarks on some assumptions made by their authors. Basic assumptions of structuralism, reasons why this view is nowadays broadly considered as well as problems with structuralistic conceptions in the philosophy of mathematics are presented.
